Our centre is a source of independent advice on carbon sink
accounting. Through our work, we aim to improve the scientific assessment of greenhouse gas uptakes and emissions from the land. We value an independent, collaborative and integrated scientific approach that fosters excellence and innovation in our staff and delivers sound outcomes for our clients. Specifically, our research examines:
• the response of ecosystems to global change;
• methods for measuring land-based carbon fluxes,
sources and sinks;
• current scientific understanding of forces driving change
in the carbon cycle; and
• innovative ways of managing the Australian carbon cycle
to achieve national greenhouse gas reduction objectives.
Meeting Australia’s greenhouse challenge on the land through excellence in science.
