The Women's & Children's Health Research Institute (WCHRI) is an independent research institute committed to improving the health of women and children.
Established in 1989 as the Child Health Research Insitute, WCHRI now has over 70 staff and students involved in research spanning child nutrition, cancer, genetic disorders, diseases of the blood and immune system, and development and repair of the digestive system, skull and skin.
WCHRI integrates early stage ('fundamental') research with later stage, strategic research and applying that knowledge to the development of new therapeutic or preventative health strategies. WCHRI combines quality research with relevance to health.
