Ridgley Primary School is located in Ridgley, Tasmania. The school was established in 1905 and has a tradition of providing quality, state funded education for students in Years K–6 from the surrounding community. From Term 3 2009, Ridgley Primary School absorbed students from nearby Waratah Primary School (now closed). Despite being comprised of two former schools, the expanded Ridgley Primary School has not been treated as a new school for data purposes. Therefore, while school improvement data for Ridgley Primary School is shown, it should be borne in mind that there will be some variance for the achievement measures provided resulting from additional student data. The school is guided by the Learner at the Centre framework and embraces the government's priority areas including Literacy and Numeracy – improving the basic literacy and numeracy skills of all school-aged children. Ridgley Primary School is committed to working with its community and supporting teachers working together, designing personalised learning opportunities for all students.
