Bass High is a co-educational comprehensive school which serves Bass Hill, Villawood, Georges Hall and nearby suburbs. Over 40 years, the school has been meeting the needs of the local community by promoting academic achievement, personal fulfilment and sporting prowess.
The 630 students reflect the diversity of cultural backgrounds which make up modern Australian society. Students are actively encouraged to take pride in their family's culture and heritage and to take an active part in building Australia's identity and future. Parents and members of the local community are encouraged and welcomed by the school in its decision making processes.
The School Council has a leading role in discussing educational issues affecting the school and in making decisions which determine the way the school operates and the culture it develops. Students are also involved in the government of the school through the elected Student Representative Council. Concerns about the school's environment and other issues are dealt with by the SRC as well as fund raising for activities which benefit the student body.
