St Bernard State School was officially opened as a co-educational establishment by the Queensland Government in 1914 with an enrolment of 18 students. Currently we have 347 students enrolled from preparatory year to Year 7.
Our students have a reputation for being well mannered, disciplined achievers. St Bernard State School has a long history of high academic performance. We encourage our gifted students to achieve their best by offering excellence programs aimed at extending their knowledge and understanding in a variety of areas. All students have the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular cultural, sporting and academic activities. Furthermore, students who may be having difficulty in a particular learning area are quickly identified and given further help where required.
In order to enhance our learning environment, our facilities are continually being modified and upgraded. Last year, each classroom was equipped with an Interactive Whiteboard, and we welcomed the addition of our new library and undercover assembly area. Our P&C has actively supported such initiatives and has contributed financially to the ongoing development of the school.
