Iona College was founded in 1958 and is an independent Catholic boys’ college operated under the auspices of the priests and brothers of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. This has shaped the College’s philosophy of education which is embedded in missionary and Christian values.
Iona College is committed to the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of education. It provides a flexible, comprehensive and relevant curriculum, which gives students the opportunity to develop wide-ranging skills. Pastoral care ensures all boys are treated and cared for as individuals contributing to the community.
The College is situated on Brisbane’s bayside and incorporates Years 5-7 and Years 8-12 on the one campus.
While maintaining a strong academic record, the College is dedicated to the promotion of cultural pursuits through its music, drama, public speaking and debating programs. It also has a strong sporting tradition in the AIC and CIC competitions.
