Kapunda Primary School provides a safe and diverse learning environment which educates and empowers students to be successful in the community and in the future. The school values are effort, respect, cooperation and honesty which are reinforced through social development programs such as Achieve, The Virtues and the Friendly Schools. Behaviour development programs focus on a restorative approach.
The school is supported with a school counsellor and chaplain. A breakfast program and other social justice initiatives help support students. Support programs operate to assist students with learning problems. An out of school hours care program operates to support families.
The school has a strong commitment to numeracy, science and literacy through accelerated literacy. ICT is embedded into learning programs with computers and an interactive whiteboard in all classes. Classes also access a computer suite. Specialist teachers support an emphasis on performing arts, PE and Japanese. The school is involved in special PE activities, sports clinics, concerts, choir, performances and camps. The school works with the community through school action teams.
