The Scottsdale School community is set in a rural agriculture environment in north-east Tasmania, 60 km from Launceston. Historically, Scottsdale’s economic base has been agriculture and forestry. Tourism is rapidly becoming a focus for the Dorset Community. The primary school was built on the present site in 1972 and a separate infant campus was relocated to create one school in 1996. Our enrolment has stayed steady at about 385 students from Kindergarten to grade 6. Scottsdale Primary School and its community have a very focussed vision for our young citizens who attend their local school. Our vision is to build a community of learners focused on high quality teaching and learning that engages all of our students, enabling them to reach their potential and participate fully in the 21st century. Our motto “Aim High” has been a long held tradition which is embedded in the Scottsdale culture. The Scottsdale Community is supportive with a strong sense of family values taking great pride in the traditions of the school. The School and Parent’s & Friends Associations are very supportive community bodies who actively contribute and enrich the school’s educational programs.
