bestchance is an independent, not-for-profit, community organisation conveniently located in Glen Waverley.
Providing universal, specialist, educational and welfareservices, bestchance has adopted an innovative and holistic approach to assisting young children and Families by integrating its suite of community services in one complex.
Cheshire School provides a specialised 12 month Intervention Program to support children from prep through to grade six, who have demonstrated significant social, emotional and behavioural problems in their mainstream schools. In a supportive and caring environment, Cheshire helps children and families to identify the fundamental causes of a child’s issues and to overcome the disruptive behaviours that may have become part of everyday life.
Classes are limited to a maximum of eight students with a total maximum enrolment for the school of 24. Our teachers and Principal at Cheshire are highly skilled professionals with extensive training in both the specialist environment and mainstream schools.
The Cheshire Program develops self-esteem, resilience and coping strategies and by facilitating a change in behaviours allows children to successfully re-integrate into the mainstream school system, positively changed to cope with the challenges ahead.
