The teachers at Bellbridge are well skilled in the appreciation of different teaching and learning styles and they always strive for what is best for the children. One concrete example of this is the single-gender classes in Upper School. As well as the usual co-educational groupings in the Upper School there is one group of boys and one group of girls who do most of their work in a single-gender setting. The curriculum is also differentiated to reflect this structure and make the most of the learning opportunities within those classes.
We are strong believers in the home/school partnership as the best way to develop in children habits which will stand them in good stead for their whole life. Parents are encouraged to take an active interest in their child’s learning at the school and we certainly value the input of those parents who are able to assist in classrooms. Over the course of any given year there will be opportunities for parents to come to the school and see first hand the sorts of activities the children are engaged in as well as gaining relevant information which should demystify what happens during the school day.
Overall, Bellbridge Primary School is a warm and welcoming learning environment for children and their families. We pride ourselves on servicing the needs of the whole child through our school motto- 'Individual Pathways, United Journey' as well as the underlying pedagogical statements We Aim, We Achieve; We Are All Individuals; We Value Teamwork; We Are Responsible Citizens.
