Research Primary School is located in semi-rural surroundings on the north-eastern outskirts of Melbourne, within the Shire of Nillumbik. The school was established in 1889 during the gold mining days and has a present enrolment of about 220 students. With Nillumbiik generally an aging area, student enrolments are likely to remain stable or decrease slightly in the future.
Eltham is our nearest suburb towards the city, with Kangaroo Ground just beyond Research. The school is small enough to create a caring family atmosphere, yet has a sufficiently large student enrolment to enable us to offer a wide range of specialist programs.
