Address: 2370 Warburton Highway, Yarra Junction VIC 3797
Yarra Junction Primary School is situated on the Warburton Highway, 65 km east of Melbourne in the Upper Yarra Valley. Yarra Junction is the centre of the Upper Yarra Valley with magnificent views of the mountains. The school was established in 1894 and has provided outstanding education to the residents of the Upper Yarra Valley. For over 100 years we have educated 3-4 generations of children from the Yarra Valley. We play a strong and active role within the community and are seen as educational leaders and the cornerstone of the community.
The facilities of our school are well maintained and the community has, over the life of the school been extremely committed to providing and maintaining infrastructure that will improve the learning of all students. A number of buildings have been built or moved by the parent community and the culmination of this was the building of a stadium in 2009.
Our school promotes resilience and risk taking as the children develop confidence in their own ability to become lifelong learners who are able to adapt to change. To facilitate this we have a Wellbeing Coordinator and School Chaplain who develop and implement many wellbeing programs. The pastoral care that we provide to students, staff and parents is outstanding and one of the key reasons for our harmonious school.
