Balcatta Primary School ('School of Many Nations') situated ten kilometres north-west of Perth in the suburb of Balcatta, first opened in 1964. After reaching an enrolment of about 800 students in the 1960s and 1970s, the school now has a very comfortable population of approximately 200 students (K-7). The school is proud of its heritage and its multicultural population represents approximately twenty different ethnic groups.
Many of the teaching staff have experience in teaching students of ethnic backgrounds. The school's mission is to develop independent learners by supporting each child to attain their highest academic, social, cultural and physical potential.
