The School of Education at JCU has been training teachers since the 1960s. It offers undergraduate programs in early childhood, primary, secondary and physical education teaching and has developed exceptionally strong relationships with local schools and education providers.
Postgraduate courses offer practising teachers opportunities to enrich their professional knowledge base; further develop their understanding of factors shaping educational participation and outcomes as well as their own professional practice; and provide pathways into higher research degrees. Research degrees (MEd Hons, EdD and PhD) provide opportunities to explore in greater depth issues of importance to the profession, to contribute to the body of professional knowledge and equip themselves for leadership at all levels
