Days are planned to balance care, educational and play activities, while allowing the child to change to the place and content of his or her time at Little Stars. Incorporated in the pro- gram is the children’s routine (eating, sleeping, dressing and toileting) and staff are responsible for planning experiences which foster skills and maintain the individuality of each child’s routine.
Perceptive skills, which form the basis of the ability to read and write, are carefully monitored and experiences are designed to ensure that true skills are being developed as opposed to rote learning. We maintain development records for each child, which are used to train staff and in combination with information from the parents, to plan development and culturally appropriate programs.
There is an emphasis on creative arts, including drama, movement, literature, music, art and exploratory play with an underlying theme. The programs include activities to develop social, physical and intellectual growth
