Cooranbong Public School was renamed Cooranbong Community School in 1989 to formally recognise the partnership with parents in the education of their children. Cooranbong Community School emphasises literacy programs and is particularly focused on early intervention programs within this area. The school is able to utilise the Disadvantaged Schools Program to allocate funds to literacy and early intervention. Cooranbong Community School has been placed on the program for a further three years. The school provides a broad curriculum with an increasing emphasis on technology. A high profile continues to be enjoyed in the area of Creative and Performing Arts.
