Balwyn High School is a co-educational school of 1,900 students from Years 7 to 12. It has a dedicated, professional team of 180 teachers and support staff.

The general curriculum is well balanced and is structured with a strong emphasis on the use of learning technologies. Special opportunities are provided in accelerated mathematics, advanced studies in music and Languages Other Than English (LOTE), as well as a range of enrichment programs.
The school offers four Languages Other Than English (French, Chinese, Modern Greek and Ancient Greek), as well as an English as a Second Language (ESL) program.
Balwyn High School has an Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) for children of high intellectual potential.
