The Department of Medicine is located at Monash Medical Centre. The Department is responsible for the teaching of Internal Medicine and academic leadership in Internal Medicine in teaching hospitals affiliated with Monash University’s Faculty of Medicine Nursing & Health Sciences.
All academic medical staff hold clinical appointments at Southern Health and close integration between Departmental academic activities and health care service delivery underpins the teaching and research programs. Professor Stephen Holdsworth is Head of the Department and Chairman of Southern Health’s Division of Medicine.
