Avenel Primary School is set on 2.2ha in the centre of Avenel. The school consists of the original 5 room brick building (2 classrooms, library and staffroom), two portables each with 2 classrooms, office/art-multipurpose building and new toilet block. The interior walls from the portables have been removed to make them into open plan classrooms which compliment our team teaching approach to learning.
An enormous oak tree overshadows the main buildings reminding the school community of its proud 150+ year history. Scattered around the grounds are a mod-grass multi-purpose play area, adventure playground, football/cricket oval, vegetable/fruit garden and several passive play areas. A large undercover area provides a sheltered place in inclement weather and is also used for assemblies and other functions. Around the grounds are numerous native, shade and deciduous trees and small gardens.
