Talwood State School, located just 90km west of Goondiwindi, is a member of the Darling Downs South West Region within the Department of Education and Training. With teaching and learning occurring in two multi-age classes, we offer students all key learning areas with a distinct focus on providing a supportive school environment.
During 2011, our school was based around an Early Phase of Learning class, incorporating Prep to Year 2 and a Middle Phase of Learning class catering for students in Years 4 to 7. All classes had weekly music lessons, delivered by a specialist teacher based in Goondiwindi, as well as focussed lessons in Health and Physical Education and School Behaviour. LOTE (French) was provided face-to-face by a specialist to students in Years 5-7, with French Intercultural Awareness was provided face-to-face to students in Years 3-4.
