Sprent Primary School is situated in a rural setting 14 kilometres south of Ulverstone. Eighty-six children attend the school with the majority travelling to and from the school by bus. The school has eight teachers which includes the specialist areas of Physical Education, Music and French. The staff also includes a School Executive Officer, two Teacher Aides, a Library Aide and two Attendants. Sprent Primary School provides a comprehensive learning program that addresses the components of the Tasmanian Curriculum. The school places a strong emphasis on supporting families by providing a welcoming, supportive environment. There is a clear commitment on the part of staff to work with parents to actively teach and support appropriate social skills and behaviour patterns in their children. The school's parent community is extremely supportive and (as with the teachers) maintains high expectations for their children and the school. These elements combine to create a supportive, cohesive and energetic learning community.
