The Centre for Developmental Disability Health Victoria gives high priority to educational activities. We believe that the health, and therefore the lives, of people with disabilities can be enhanced by supporting those who provide healthcare to develop positive attitudes towards people with disabilities, and a sound knowledge base in relation to the health issues of people with developmental disabilities.
Centre staff are regularly engaged in the development and delivery of teaching sessions to undergraduate medical students at both Monash University and the University of Melbourne, registrars in General Practice and Psychiatry and medical practitioners. Centre staff are also asked to run sessions for other professionals involved in the healthcare of people with developmental disabilities.
