Rokeby High School is located on the Eastern Shore of Hobart; located in what has historically been known as Clarence Plains. The school services families from Seven Mile Beach, South Arm, Cremorne, Clarendon Vale, Rokeby, Lauderdale, Acton and Clifton Beach. A small high school, with an enrolment of around 200 students, Rokeby High School presents itself to the community as a centre of excellence and innovation. The school has developed this direction from necessity as creative structures and learning platforms have assisted in ensuring that students are provided with the same learning experiences available in large high schools. The effective use by staff and students of the ITC program Studywiz provides an example of innovation at Rokeby High School. The school is grounded by positive relationships and an understanding of the learning needs of all students. Classes commence at 8.45 with a home group meeting followed by a large block of Literacy and Numeracy time. A mixture of choice and extension subjects follows the late morning and lunch breaks.
