The UWA Law School offers small group teaching, particularly in the early years of the undergraduate degree. The School’s emphasis is on encouraging interactive learning, critical thinking and reasoning as well as professional training in inquiry and legal research skills. In addition to the LLB and LLM (by coursework), intensive courses run by the Centre for Mining, Energy and Natural Resources Law, and the Centre for Advanced Consumer Research are available to both industry professionals and postgraduate students in Law.
The Crime Research Centre offers a specialised postgraduate diploma and Masters degrees in the Criminal Justice area. A professional doctorate, the Doctor of Juridical Science, combines coursework and research. A future focus in the School includes Law and Public Policy and Advanced Consumer Law. In addition, the Faculty of Law offers a Master of Public Administration in collaboration with Curtin University, and an executive Master of Public Administration.
