Flinders Public School is located in the new and developing suburb of Flinders in the city of Shellharbour. The school serves a student population of 534 students from a diversity of cultural backgrounds. Staff are committed to providing a positive, safe and stimulating learning environment where each child is supported to achieve their potential socially, emotionally and academically. Staff are strongly motivated to participate inprofessional development and are committed to strengthening their teaching practices so as to improve all students learning outcomes.
An integrated curriculum aimed at being relevant, significant, including technology and reflecting the Quality Teaching Framework has been developed by staff to ensure consistent implementation of syllabuses.
As well as a strong emphasis being placed on Literacy across all the KLAs and numeracy, Flinders Public School places an importance on student's participation and achievement in sport, dance, music and drama, values and skills for safe and healthy life choices.
