Wangee Park School recognises the very special needs of students who have severe intellectual and physical disabilities. Challenging but relevant educational programs are developed for students based on their individual needs. These programs are implemented in stimulating learning environments which include well resourced classrooms, an interactive sensory room, outdoor areas of trees and gardens, and an interactive sensory garden. Classroom environments are enhanced with verandas which provide additional learning and recreational areas. The school community identifies care, nurturing and the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills as the touchstones of success at Wangee Park School. Students at Wangee Park School enjoy learning experiences based on curriculum documents relating to the Key Learning Areas. These experiences support the development of communication skills, mobility skills, eating skills, social skills, interpersonal skills and general functional skills. A belief in recognition of students' ability to participate in a wide variety of learning experiences which enhance students' quality of life is the basis of all educational programs development.
