Ashmont Public School is located on the western fringe of Wagga Wagga. It serves a community of diverse backgrounds with approximately 40% of the students being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander decent.
The school possesses spacious playground areas with well-equipped learning environments including computer and interactive technology. Highly professional and dedicated staff deliver educational programs that are underpinned by high expectations in student performance. Targeted programs are implemented to support the learning needs of Indigenous and disadvantaged students.
The quality teaching of literacy and numeracy is a priority of the school's purpose and is supported by a clearly defined student welfare program which aims at developing student social competencies, confidence and leadership skills. The school's motto of 'Honour Be Your Guide' on our school emblem is complemented by the Wiradjuri word 'Yindyamarra' meaning honour, respect and go slowly.
