Berinba Primary School was established in February 1972. "Berinba" is derived from an Aboriginal word meaning "to the south". The school provides education for children living in southern Yass and bordering rural areas. Students travel by bus from Murrumbateman, Wee Jasper, along the Hume Highway towards Gunning and the rural areas of southern Yass.
Berinba Primary School is a P4 Primary school. The school's current enrolment is 278 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and has 14 classes. Three enriched learning classes have been recently established. These classes provide an alternate learning environment for students who require enriched teaching methods to ensure they reach their potential.
Berinba Public School has built a fine reputation during its existence. This is attributed in no small measure to the corporate involvement of pupils, teachers and parents in the school's endeavours.
