Belyuen Community was previously known as Delissaville, and has a population of approximately 225 people. The school is set in attractive surroundings, is a two-teacher school and has a staff room, office/reception area, early childhood building, two classrooms, library and assembly area. The preschool area was recently renovated and there are plans to further enhance this area. The current enrolment is 47 this includes 4 preschoolers. All students are Indigenous. While non-standard Australian or Aboriginal English has now become the main language spoken at home, Emi and Batjamalh is still spoken. A ferry service operates between Mandorah and Cullen Bay.
