Urapunga School is approximately 300km southeast of Katherine, in the Indigenous community on Urapunga Station. The population of the community is approximately 100 and the main languages used are Kriol and English. The community can be accessed via road in 4WD, however during the wet season the road is cut-off due to flooding. Urapunga can be accessed via air through chartered air services only. During the wet season boat access can be arranged with a nearby local store.
Urapunga school is part of the Katherine Group School. The school implements the literacy program PM Benchmark and the numeracy program Count Me In Too. The school also offers a breakfast program.
