McDonnell Creek is a small rural school in Far North Queensland situated on the Bruce Highway between Innisfail and
Cairns. The beautiful rainforest‐covered Bellenden Ker ranges form a scenic backdrop to the school, which is bordered
by McDonnell Creek. Many of our students travel from as far away as Gordonvale, in order to be part of the small,
friendly family‐like atmosphere. Established in 1913, McDonnell Creek State School is well supported by students,
parents, staff and community members.
McDonnell Creek State School is a one teacher, multi‐age school. Our current enrolment of 15 students, range in ages
