Mitcham Girls High School is the only government school for girls in South Australia. It is highly respected within local, state and international communities. It is not a zoned school and therefore attracts students from all suburbs across Adelaide and nearby country towns. Many girls travel considerable distances to come to a school which offers them exciting opportunities in an environment that is caring and academically challenging.
Mitcham Girls High School is an all girls' school with approximately 600 students across Years 8 - 13.
The school was established in 1960 and has a very proud history.
It offers a wide range of subjects and co-curricular activities, encourages excellence at all levels and develops an awareness of the changing choices available to women in our society.
The Mitcham Girls High School Community is very proud of the achievements of all students who are happy, confident, articulate, respectful and highly successful young women.
