Established in 1895, Lindisfarne North is a small, urban primary school on Hobart’s Eastern shore overlooking the Derwent River. Facilities include a spacious, well resourced library, specialist art and music rooms and general purpose hall. The school believes all children need firm foundations in Literacy and Numeracy, a sense of connectedness to their local community, the resilience to embrace change and the values to act ethically and with integrity. These beliefs are reflected in our high expectations for students, our caring environment and strong parental engagement in the school program. We embrace global citizenship with a focus on Asian studies, including a Japanese language program, environmental sustainability and health and well being. Leadership opportunities for students are provided through the Student Council, Buddy classes, Daily PE program, Eco-Geckos and Junior Red Cross. Students are involved in a range of enrichment programs including woodwind band, choir, recorder, on-line learning, art, drama, annual competitions and a variety of sporting activities. The school is family friendly, providing full day care for young children and after school care on site.
