Longford Primary is situated in rural township of approx 4000 people. The school was established in 1830 and the school buildings and grounds containing many heritage features. We have a current enrolment of 267 students and 10.6 classes. We have a well established Library, Music, General Purpose Hall, with an off site Kindergarten. The school population is drawn from a diverse range of economic situations. The school operates within the framework of Supportive School Environment and our goals are to develop and maximise the learning potential of each student in a framework of high expectations, focused teaching and engaged learning time. The curriculum provides students with a wide range of educational opportunities. Of central importance is the core curriculum of Literacy, Numeracy, Science, History, ICT and use of Interactive whiteboards and Social Skills utilising Program Achieve Program. Students participate in weekly Library, Music and Physical Education, and Daily fitness lessons. Longford has a strong focus and value staff professional learning and sharing and reflecting on practice.
