Paynesville Primary School is located on the picturesque Gippsland Lakes system - 16 kilometres south of Bairnsdale, and just two hours drive from the Ski Resort of Mt Hotham. Residents enjoy a relaxed lifestyle, including boating and fishing, with many workers commuting to nearby Bairnsdale for employment.
The school was built in 1997, and boasts excellent facilities including an all-purpose hall with stage, library, computer pod, specialist art room, teaching kitchen, sporting fields, kitchen garden, and a soon-to-be-completed new multi-purpose building. We are very proud of our gardens which are maintained by students, staff, families, and community members.
We are an active member of the Bairnsdale Cluster of schools and the East Gippsland Schools Network (EGSN) – working together to develop and implement shared philosophies and educational goals. For the last four years, Prof John Munro has been working with the network to develop literacy strategies.
