Castletown Primary is one of three Class 5 Primary Schools situated in the seaside town of Esperance. The population of the town is approximately 14,000 people. The town has a port through which agricultural products from the hinterland and iron ore and nickel from the Goldfields are exported. The area supports a variety of agricultural activities, including sheep, cattle and cereal farming. There is also a growing fishing industry. Tourism is a major industry attracting many people throughout the year to the beautiful islands and pristine beaches of the area.
