Wyalkatchem District High School is situated in the small town of Wyalkatchem, 191 kms north east of Perth in the Central Wheatbelt. The school has approximately 150 students from Kindergarten to Year 12, coming from within the local community and from the surrounding towns of Koorda, Trayning and Kununoppin. The community comprises of farmers (mainly wheat and sheep) and small business operators servicing the farmers and local people, as well as the service industries (hospital, retail and education). The community has traditionally been supportive of its school, with an active School Council and P&C.
