St Catherine's School was established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1925. In 2012 the college was renamed from St Catherine's School, Proserpine to St Catherine's Catholic College, The Whitsundays.Until 2012, the school was a co-educational, multi-age primary school for children from Prep to Year 7. In 2012 a second campus of the college was opened on Renwick Road. Children from Years 5-7 are located at the new campus, with the original Marathon Street campus now a dedicated early years' learning precinct for Prep - Year 4. There are currently 390 students at our school from Prep to Year 7 with almost all year levels as two stream classes. We have five Indigenous students attending St Catherine’s.Year 8 will be offered in 2013 and an additional secondary year will become available each year until 2017 when Prep-Year 12 will be fully available across both campuses. It is proposed that St Catherine’s Catholic College would have a population in excess of 800 students by 2017 (the first year of Year 12)
