Mowbray Heights Primary School is an urban school located in the northern suburbs of Launceston, catering for children from Birth to 4 in the Launching Into Learning Initiative and Kindergarten to Year 6 in the Tasmanian Curriculum Framework. Since opening in 1927, Mowbray Heights has been held in high regard by the community as evidenced by the number of second and third generation families attending the school. In recent years we have welcomed international families to our school from Africa and Asia which now comprise 18% of our school population. Our student population is very diverse. A very strong Learning Support Program operates for students with high or additional needs. At Mowbray Heights Primary School we have a commitment to educational achievement as highlighted in our school motto ‘Aim High’, and in our vision statement ‘Educating for a responsible and successful future’.
