Durack School is a large urban primary school situated in the City of Palmerston which is 21km south of Darwin . The school opened in 1998 and is proud to have a connection to the pioneering Durack family. The school population is approximately 440 with classes from Preschool to year 6. Around 18% of the children come from Defence families. We are proud of our fine record of achievement. Through our programs we aim to provide opportunities for each child to reach their full potential. The school is very well resourced due largely to the support of parents and the school community. The school council runs a school canteen. An after school program is conducted on the premises by the YMCA. We encourage parents to be partners in the education of their children, working together with the school to make the child's time a safe and positive experience.
