Osborne State School is located on the corner of Kirknie Rd and Osborne Rd. It is a Band 5 State Primary School located 8.5 km up-river of Home Hill, in the Burdekin Shire. The two towns nearest to Osborne are Ayr and Home Hill. The Burdekin River separates these two communities. Cane fields dominate the scenery around the school.
The Resource Centre (Computer Lab and Library) is in the original high set building, built in 1914. The office, staff room and reception areas are also located in this building. The students work in a multi-age setting in the demountable building. All year levels are catered for. An open-air hall is used as a play area during the day and a function area on special occasions. The school also has a shaded senior playground, shaded junior playground, tennis court, cricket pitch and large oval. Shady trees and covered play areas provide welcome relief from our northern heat. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you would like to know more about our school.
