Boat Harbour Primary School is located in Boat Harbour, Tasmania. The school was established in 1888 and has a fine tradition of providing high quality education for students in Years K–6. In 2012 we have 248 students, 10 classes K-6 and 36 staff members. Our facilities are well organised with up to date resources and technology. The grounds exceed 9 hectares and include extensive play grounds, sports areas, gardens and a 5 hectare school farm.
The staff at Boat Harbour Primary School are dedicated, highly motivated and committed to making a positive difference in children’s lives. The school provides very high standards in education particularly in literacy and numeracy and offers an innovative curriculum with a strong focus on Music, ICT, and the Arts. To support our classroom programs, we offer Flying Start and Count Me In Too (intensive literacy and numeracy programs for Early Childhood), Bridges, Middle Maths and Literacy Support.
Our Learning Beyond the Classroom programs include Music, Band and Choir, LOTE – Japanese, PE, Library, Writer’s Workshop, Interactive Literacy and Computer Studies. Our Activities Program offers students, Prep to Grade 6, the opportunity to opt into a range of innovative and creative inquiries offered by staff and community members. We also provide a birth to four program: Little Learners and Out of Hours School Care.
